My mission is to go around finding a stellar poutine that blows my mind. I’ll document my curdsade as best as I can here with critiques and pictures. I will be “grading” on ingredients, esthetics, taste, portion, and price (if someone wants to charge $8+ for a poutine, the shit better make my taste buds explode) and whatever else I decide to throw in as we go along. However, I will keep this just as poutine should be kept, relatively simple yet fucking amazing.
If you have any questions, comments or even if you want to suggest a spot which you think is on point and has great poutine, please do not hesitate to shoot me an email at curdsade@gmail.com.
Hi
OH MY GOD, I love your blog… I am from Quebec but moved to Toronto last year…I LOVE POUTINE..I feel pretty fortunate to have fallen on your blog!!! Also your are from Ottawa so i’m guessing you had the BEST poutine in ottawa, the orange chip wagon on St-joseph BLVD? Its run by chinesse. They know how to LAYER let me tell you. I also had a question, do you know the exact date of the grand opening of Smoke’s Poutinerie? It says November…but i need an exact date! Please let me know if you know! If you are the connaisseur you say you are you will know!
PS. I am french and that poutine wrap video made me laugh so hard i was actually crying!
Well hope to get a reply from you!
Lisa-Marie
Well…I’ve been on a similar curdsade and I have to say that I’m oober happy someone is documenting it! I dare you to try the poutine at the Gladstone cafe…worst thing I’ve ever tasted…mushroom gravy, soggy fries and, get this: goat mozzerella curds…YUCK!!!
Other place which was alright…Dangerous Dan’s Diner on Queen East…gravy was good…real cheese curds but the fries were too thick (wegdes).
A friend of mine mentioned that there’s a new place opening downtown called Smoke’s Poutinerie (it’s a place dedicated to poutine!) but it doesn’t open til mid-November…ahhhh…can’t wait.
Keep up the good work man!
